If you are an avid user of Botim for video calls, you might have seen frequent pop-up notifications related to finance or money from the app. Even when you open the app, a message pops up, signaling its significant shift toward offering payment options. In its latest move, Botim Money, the financial services arm of Botim, has teamed up with Binance, the leading crypto exchange, to explore ways to provide crypto services for UAE users.
Binance is just back from its grant event, Binance Blockchain Week 2025, and has received its recent comprehensive licences from the Financial Services Regulatory Authority (FSRA) of Abu Dhabi Global Market (ADGM). It is amid these achievements that Binance once again earned a name in crypto by partnering with Botim Money.
Binance will add a crypto-inclusive fintech service to Botim Money
Botim and Binance are unanimously paving the way to ignite crypto innovation through Botim Money. Under the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) that both teams signed during Binance Blockchain Week, they are diving into utilizing their unique capabilities to offer digital asset services in the UAE, where the crypto/blockchain realm is already advancing.
As such, Sacha Haider, Chief Strategy Officer of Astra Tech/Botim, stated:
“Unlocking crypto capabilities with Binance allows us to build on this foundation and offer customers new ways to engage with the digital economy.”
It is significant to note that crypto services are not yet live inside Botim Money, but they are exploring ways to integrate crypto services into this financial layer of Botim.
Botim’s financial services
Since the UAE’s Astra Tech company acquired Botim in January 2023, the app has evolved into a platform with digital payment as its core feature. In October 2025, Astra Tech rebranded PayBy, the platform behind Botim’s financial services, to Botim Money. This transformation has made its fintech services popular and user-friendly.
Before this rebranding came Botim’s upgraded interface with major changes to video and audio call designs, AI integration, new filters, picture-in-picture mode, and so much more.
Botim’s existing financial offerings include options such as international transfer, local transfer, my cards, bills and recharges, salary card, national bonds, UnionPay, send now pay later, CashNow-Instant loan, and a few other services.
Botim’s evolution from a communication platform to payments and other fintech services, including the current plans to integrate crypto with Binance, is a big matter of concern as the UAE and several blockchain aficionados are holding the torch to financial innovation.
During the Binance Blockchain Week, the crypto exchange has also partnered with Dubai Customs to bring advanced blockchain-based customs services.
Binance, which is dancing happily in the crypto industry, is cementing its roots in the UAE, where the government and several private sectors are actively involved in crypto initiatives.
