WebX, Japan’s leading Web3 conference, wrapped its third annual event after two days of presentations, exhibitions, and networking. The conference drew an audience of more than 14,000 people and featured over 170 side events.
The event featured a lineup of prominent figures from policy and industry, including Shigeru Ishiba, the Prime Minister of Japan; Arthur Hayes, CEO of Maelstrom; Adam Back, Co-founder & CEO of Blockstream; CZ, Founder of Binance; Haseeb Qureshi, Managing Partner of Dragonfly; Hayden Adams, Founder and CEO of Uniswap Labs; Heath Tarbert, President of Circle Internet Group; and Yoshitaka Kitao, Representative Director, Chairman, President & CEO of SBI Holdings.
Highlights of the conference included:
WebX FinTech EXPO: An exclusive, invite-only event in Osaka on August 22, in partnership with SBI Holdings. It brought together 1,000 regulators and financial leaders to discuss new technologies and regulations shaping financial markets. Speakers included Yoshitaka Kitao, Governor of Osaka Prefecture Hirofumi Yoshimura, and Eiji Kobayashi, Country Head of Securitize Japan.
Main Conference: The event featured five speaker stages with discussions on topics like stablecoins, AI, and tokenization. Attendees also explored themed halls, including the RWA Themed Hall supported by Toyota Blockchain Lab, and the LINE NEXT Themed Hall, which focused on tokenization, DApps, and gaming. The Web3 Salon Area also hosted “VC Connect,” a series of panels and one-on-one meetings for startups and investors.
“LIGHT DANCE” Drone Show: On the first day, 300 drones performed a choreographed light show over Zojoji Temple.
Official After Party: The conference concluded with an official after-party at Zouk Tokyo.
This year’s attendees represented a wide range of job functions and roles, from creators to C-suite executives. WebX 2025 was supported by sponsors including Bitbank, UPCX, BitLending, SBI Holdings, TRON, Gate, Spacecoin, and Bitcoin.jp.
The next WebX conference is scheduled for July 13-14, 2026.
