Aster Clinics has unveiled ‘Smyl AI’, the UAE’s first artificial intelligence-powered dental screening tool, offering free, instant assessments to users via WhatsApp. The launch marks a significant step in making dental care more accessible, convenient, and proactive for residents across the country.
Developed in partnership with India-based health tech company ‘Logy.AI’, Smyl AI is part of Aster Clinics’ broader ‘Smarter Smiles’ initiative, which aims to raise awareness, promote early detection, and encourage routine oral health checkups in the UAE.
By simply starting a chat on WhatsApp, users can answer a few questions and upload three photos of their teeth (front, upper, and lower). Within two minutes, they receive a free dental health report highlighting issues such as cavities, gum disease, plaque, and staining. Users can then choose to schedule a follow-up consultation with any of Aster’s 30+ dental specialists across the country.
Artificial intelligence ‘is playing an increasingly vital role’
“Artificial intelligence is playing an increasingly vital role in enhancing healthcare outcomes,” said Dr. Sherbaz Bichu, CEO of Aster Hospitals and Clinics – UAE, Oman, and Bahrain. “Oral health is often neglected until pain occurs. With Smyl AI, we’re not trying to disrupt but to validate and refine our existing practices. This tool brings precision, accessibility, and trust to dental care for everyone—families, professionals, and communities.”
Smyl AI is available through WhatsApp and typing “Hi Aster Clinics.” The tool supports multiple languages and complies with UAE healthcare data privacy regulations, ensuring encrypted and confidential handling of patient information.
With 110 clinics across the UAE, Aster Clinics is positioning itself at the forefront of tech-enabled healthcare. By embracing AI, the group aligns with national goals of improving public health access and awareness, especially in preventative and community-focused care.
“Smyl AI is more than a diagnostic tool—it’s a gateway to smarter, easier, and more inclusive dental care,” Dr. Bichu added.
