Have you ever heard of a safe place to vent your emotions in the corporate world? You might have encountered scream rooms and wellness corners in offices, but how about a “venting machine” (not a vending machine) — a blockchain-based haven that is ready to listen to you?
Yes, the developers behind Ethereum layer 2, Aztec Network, recently launched the StealthNote app to safeguard the emotions of corporate whistleblowers.
If you are a conscientious, responsible whistleblower who wants to purge truth or express situational emotions within a highly protected sphere, then StealthNote would be a better place.
Saleel Pichen, the Aztec Labs developer, took to X on April 14, stating that this new app generates a “zero-knowledge proof” of a Google JSON Web Token (JWT).
Google JSON Web Token is a tamper-proof method to pass information between two parties on Google services; typically, a client on the frontend and a server on the backend of an app.
(The home page of StealthNote’s website displays chats of anonymous users from various companies.)
Best of all, the StealthNote app allows users to post anonymous messages without revealing their identity, while proving they belong to a company. In detail, users can own an email from their company domain. As shown in the picture above, users can make posts on the app using the “someone from” a company feature.
Aztec Labs is the backbone of Ethereum in terms of providing privacy. As its X profile bio reads, “Building the first privacy network on Ethereum,” the founders Zac Williamson and Joe Andrews have been prioritizing privacy over everything. Although blockchain deploys decentralized technology to ensure safety, the developers cannot behind it cannot always live up to their words. However,
The Aztec Lab devs are highly motivated with their “privacy-first” mission, promising “programmable privacy for financial, identity, gaming, and other apps”.
Speaking at the BUIDL Asia 2025, a technical conference for crypto developers, Zac Williamson, known by the pseudonym Zatoshi, argued about the importance of mastering privacy in crypto and how it would help the ecosystem to be more visible in the mainstream.
