Weird NFT1

The first tweet by Jack Dorsey- “just setting up my twttr”

We cannot even imagine what can be turned into an NFT. Even a tweet, a text, or an accidental picture can become a million-dollar NFT. Co-founder of Twitter (currently X), Jack Dorsey’s first tweet on March 21, 2006, “just setting up my twttr,” became an NFT worth $2.9 million. In 2021, the co-founder minted the tweet as an NFT on Valubales by Cent, a platform for buying and selling tweets as NFTs.

The Pixel, a grey dot, anything simple can be a great art piece

Who knew a simple grey dot could be an NFT! A single grey dot by a digital artist known by the name Pak was sold for nearly $1.36 million, and NFT collector Eric Young bought the NFT in a bidding auction. Remember, we are living in a world where anything simple can bring a ripple effect!

NFT of a Dead Man’s Voice, a sad NFT tale

A sad story, but a bit scary one! People have now started turning the voices of the dead into NFTs! So strange! Ryan Mercer’s father died some 23 years ago; at the time, he created an NFT. His father left a voicemail shortly before his death, which is emotionally significant for Ryan. Reportedly, he did not mean to earn profits by selling the NFT; all he wanted was to preserve his father’s voice. A typical example of owning and storing voice as NFTs!

Alien autopsy, a scary NFT tale

Ray Santilli, British musician and film producer, infamous for the 1995 film ‘Alien Autopsy’, minted a single NFT showcasing one scary frame on the Rarible NFT marketplace — a still image of an autopsy on an alien! The 17-minute film was marketed as the real footage of an autopsy carried out by the U.S. military on an extraterrestrial body. However, the truth was later revealed: the film was nothing but a hoax!

‘Nothing’ can be something in NFTs

Can ‘Nothing’ be something? Several creators have minted “nothing” as an NFT—no image, no sound, just the concept of ownership. It is all about engagement and Web3 branding, with no interactive content. As reports show, this NFT was made to tell us the reality that the value of something depends not on its physical or artistic elements, but on concepts.

Looking at all these NFTs, now you may ask yourself: Can anything be turned into NFTs? And the answer is YES! Although NFT creators introduce a lot of strange or weird NFTs, one thing is true: An NFT with beautiful and creative pictures has value! As time passes, people dig their heads into creating NFTs from whatever their brain generates.
