From Tesla to Walmart: What does xStocks’ debut on Ethereum with 60 tokenized equities mean?

Xstocks will bring 60 tokenized equities on Ethereum

Real-world asset tokenization is increasingly seeing the world with blockchain technology becoming ubiquitous. Backed Finance’s tokenized stock product, xStocks, has officially landed on Ethereum, soon bringing along with it a territory of nearly 60 tokenized stocks. The move is groundbreaking, adding to the array of growing number of tokenization.

    xStocks’ tokenized equities on Ethereum

xStocks offers investors real-world equities through tokenization. Each token depicts a claim on a traditional stock, and investors can hold, trade, and interact with shares on-chain. Entering the Ethereum mainnet, the tokenized stock product will bring tokenized equities such as Tesla, Walmart, Amazon, Meta, and Nvidia.

Why did xStocks choose Ethereum to offer tokenized assets?

By leveraging Ethereum’s ecosystem, these tokenized equities will be more accessible than ever to users across the globe. Ethereum is the gateway to the largest Decentralized Finance (DeFi) ecosystem with the deepest smart contracts, lending protocols, liquidity mechanisms, and decentralized exchanges (DEXs). Bringing xStocks on Ethereum as ERC-20 tokens allows investors to move tokenized stocks and ETFs between self-custodial wallets and exchanges. What’s more, they can also access Ethereum-backed DeFi protocols.

xStocks launches on Solana, BNB Chain, and Tron

Before its debut on Ethereum, xStocks had already dipped its toes in Solana, BNB Chain, and Tron. Initially launched on Solana, the tokenized product allowed investors to access tokenized US stocks and ETFs starting from June 30, 2025. Backed Finance and Kraken partnered with the Solana Foundation to lead this initiative.

After expanding to BNB Chain, xStocks next moved to the Tron blockchain. On BNB Chain, xStocks were issued as BEP-20 tokens, while on Tron, they were released as TRC-20 tokens.

The surge in real-world asset (RWA) tokenization is not a magic; it is a reality that includes bonds, real estate, equities, and even carbon credits. The blockchain world now seems intent on tokenizing nearly everything around us. Combining technological maturity, clearer regulations, and solid investor demand, RWA tokenization is expected to go to the moon.
