Abu Dhabi’s Department of Government Enablement (DGE) and Majalis Abu Dhabi have taken a step forward to strengthen the AI skills of people in the emirate. This venture will be carried out through Majalis Abu Dhabi’s AI Majalis initiative.
AI Majalis Seeks to Boost AI skills for all ages
Under the AI Majalis initiative, the team executives will conduct AI awareness sessions across Abu Dhabi as part of the UAE Year of Community. These sessions were rolled out in September and will continue until the end of November 2025.
AI skills are an essential asset that everyone should hone in a world where technology is reshaping all the sectors of our lives. Al Majalis is embracing this vision by allowing the community of all ages to be part of AI sessions that would make everyday activities efficient and productive.
Abu Dhabi’s AI-native vision
DGE is leading this AI initiative to help Abu Dhabi become fully AI-native by 2027. The department is also working closely with Core42 and other prominent tech companies, such as Microsoft, AWS, and Dell, to support AI education.
AI Majalis is one of the key initiatives launched by Abu Dhabi to reinforce the emirate’s move toward becoming the world’s first AI-native government by 2027.
AI is growing at an unprecedented pace
Backed by frequent innovations, AI is experiencing significant growth, and its global market is expected to reach $4.8 trillion by 2033. According to a 2024 report, by the end of 2025, AI is poised to reach nearly $254 billion in market value, and 78% of organizations will adopt or use AI.
Interestingly, the UAE is at the top of AI nations, along with the US, China, Germany, France, and more. Adding to the race is Abu Dhabi’s contribution to the AI sector. However, rather than simply adopting AI, the emirate is focused on teaching AI skills to the local communities.
