Dubai achieves a landmark milestone, launching the first fully AI-powered autonomous parking solution across more than 36,000 parking spaces. This strategic move occurred as Parkonic, the UAE’s smart parking solutions provider and toll gate operator, Salik, announced a partnership with Dubai Holdings, a global investment company. The AI-powered parking system provides on-street and off-street parking solutions for iconic communities in Dubai.
AI-powered parking system aligns with Dubai’s Smart City 2030 and Future Mobility Vision
According to an official statement, Salik’s advanced payment infrastructure and Parkonic’s effective solutions enable “instant, cashless, and automatic payment capabilities that align well with the broader intelligent mobility vision of Dubai. This collaborative venture also moves well with Dubai’s Smart City 2030 and Future Mobility Vision, introducing a ticketless and barrier-free parking solution that eliminates manual inspection.
CEO of Parkonic, Imad Alameddine, underscored that the partnership is a milestone for urban mobility in the emirate. He further added: “Together with Salik and Dubai Holding, we’re building a future where parking is seamless, intelligent, and user-centric. Dubai Holding’s trust in Parkonic reflects our innovation and dedication”.
The collaborative initiative transcends boundaries, paving the way for AI-driven services, autonomous vehicles, and a fully integrated mobility ecosystem in the future, according to the CEO.
Goals behind launching the AI autonomous parking system
The key goal of this smart initiative is to reduce carbon emissions, lower traffic congestion, and actively support Dubai’s Net Zero goals. Moreover, the partnership between Salik and Parkonic ensures future-ready urban design, showcasing multilingual interfaces and automatic billing without the need for manual interaction.
