Mark Zuckerberg is testing an AI CEO assistant to help him run Meta

Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg has announced new AI toolkit

Meta Chief Mark Zuckerberg has announced his latest plans to develop an agentic AI toolkit to allow agents to work on behalf of real people. The media calls this move a signal towards how artificial intelligence could reshape ‘executive roles.’

Zuckerberg’s AI experiment is shaping the future

Zuckerberg has been known for experimenting with artificial intelligence systems and has come as far as designing one to assist him in running Meta. The netizens watch out for what AI takes over next and would eventually reshape how we see the professional world.

The Wall Street Journal stated that the AI agent can support decision-making and optimize access to information without having to go through various layers of management and authorization.

“The system, currently in training, is designed to act as a high-speed assistant to the CEO, surfacing insights and operational data in real time,” they reported.

From simply a tool used for day-to-day operations to developers moving to AI-coded software, the economy finally witnesses a broader shift with AI being embedded into the highest level of corporate decision-making.

Setting aside a chair for AI

Meta’s initiative is streamlined towards enhancing employee productivity while managing around 78,000 personnel by minimizing operational inefficiency. The company is also competing with smaller AI-focused startups that deal with much smaller teams.

Zuckerberg had made claims earlier that 2026 will be the year where  “AI starts to dramatically change the way” Meta works, indicating the organizational restructuring AI could bring in, moving forward.

At Meta, employees are already trained to use something called “Second Brain,” an AI assistant built on Claude that indexes project documents to act as the “chief of staff.”

At the AI Impact Summit held in India in February, Altman said AI could eventually “do a better job being the CEO of a major company than any executive.”

Reports suggest Meta may reduce thousands of roles globally, alongside the rising investments made in AI, maintaining balance in technological shifts with their workforce.

The company has also been working towards building its Superintelligence Labs and hiring developers, including Peter Steinberger, founder of OpenClaw formerly Moltbook.

Bottom Line

The efficiency of AI in managerial positions is viewed with uncertainty by analysts, as the role comes with greater responsibility that decides the company’s growth. The question here is of accountability, judgment, and organizational designs, as institutional decisions are made using contextual efficiencies, areas where human oversight is still central.
