Advanced FHE coming to all Shiba Inu tokens for institutional-grade confidentiality

The Shiba Inu ecosystem plans to make all its major tokens private by default, with advanced encryption like Fully Homomorphic Encryption (FHE), offered by ZAMA, the cryptographic company, to enable private on-chain transactions.

The technical partnership between the two projects, which began in early 2024, is being expanded. This commitment includes placing (S)HIB, (B)ONE, (L)EASH2, and Shiba Inu (T)REAT on an active implementation roadmap. The Shiba Inu developer, Kaal Dhairya, utilized the “SBLT” acronym to reference the tokens.

What does FHE do for BLT?

FHE is considered the strongest layer of privacy-preserving cryptography. It allows the computation of encrypted data without decrypting it. That is, blockchain processes transactions, and smart contracts execute them without an intermediary watching over the balances or transactions.

The alignment between the Shiba Inu ecosystem and ZAMA began together in 2024, and the BLT integration has been a deeper expansion of this collaboration. The public alignment occurred during a technical discussion concerning Zama’s confidentiality layer, which centered around fhEVM, giving blockchain a ‘super invisible cloak,’ along with computation and verification.

The interaction between Zama CEO Rand Hindi and Shiba Inu developer Kaal Dhariya confirmed that there is now a clear schedule and plan for encrypting all major Shiba Inu tokens.

The architecture developed by Zama provides the Shiba Inu ecosystem tokens to ensure the security of a public network while offering a level of confidentiality that is not available in traditional banking systems.

Why the integration matters

Shiba Inu started off as a memecoin. Most memecoins have little to no deep tech and are based on hype culture.

Shiba Inu, however, has been building its own layer-2 network, Shibarium, and the integration with the top cryptography firm Zama adds a new layer of security to it with advanced encryption across all core assets. That puts SHIB in a category closer to serious blockchain platforms than typical meme projects.

Zama shielded assets means digital assets will be protected using FHE technology, inclusive of confidential ownership with data staying encrypted, private computation ensuring smart contracts work on encrypted data, and selective disclosure providing a mechanism where only the authorized have visibility of information.

This procedure is often done using specific credentials to balance the on-chain privacy with the legal requirements of the financial ecosystem.

Therefore, the Shiba Inu ecosystem is now designed to combine the benefits of both privacy and security. According to reports, the implementation of the privacy upgrade is actively underway and is scheduled for completion by the second quarter of 2026.

Bottom Line
