The official X account of Binance’s BNB Chain was reportedly hacked earlier today by an anonymous group, who used the breach to mislead the followers by promoting fake crypto airdrops. Multiple posts from the X account featured several airdrop announcements, with attractive call to actions to grab the attention of followers. The fake posts also contained phishing links intended to deceive BNB Chain users.
CZ warns of BNB phishing scam
The repeated fake airdrop announcement has drawn the attention of Binance co-founder Changpeng Zhao. He has warned followers to take extra care against the BNB phishing scam and advised them not to click the links or connect their crypto wallets.
Binance’s security team has notified X executives and is working to suspend the account and restore, at the time of reporting.

The hacker posted a bunch of links to phishing websites that ask for Wallet Connect.
