White house event

Crypto.com is putting up a $1 million fighter bonus pool in its CRO token for an upcoming UFC event set to take place at the White House, blending crypto promotion with one of the sport’s biggest stages.

White House event marks unusual UFC Milestone

The event, called UFC Freedom 250, is scheduled for June 14 and is tied to the 250th anniversary of the United States. It’s being co-presented by Crypto.com and the UFC, marking a rare moment where a combat sports event is linked directly to a national celebration.

The $1 million bonus, paid in Cronos (CRO) tokens, stands out not just for its size, but for what it represents. Crypto companies have been turning to sports partnerships drastically, and this move shows how far that strategy has gone, with fighter pay, branding, and fan engagement now remitting with digital assets on a major stage.

CRO is the native token for the Cronos ecosystem, an open-source, decentralized blockchain protocol. The token has been integrated by Crypto.com for various rewards and offerings for its user base.

UFC president Dana White said the event could be one of the biggest in the promotion’s history, pointing to both the setting and the size of the bonus pool.

“This is the most historic sporting event in history, and it’s a night where every single fight has the potential to be Fight of the Night,” said UFC President and CEO Dana White. “Crypto.com is giving fighters the biggest bonus in UFC history, with $1 million on the line. The world will be watching on June 14.”

UFC Freedom 250 card aligns with Crypto.com’s 10-year milestone

The main event will see Ilia Topuria face Justin Gaethje in a lightweight title clash. On the same card, Alex Pereira is set to take on Ciryl Gane as he looks to secure a third UFC title in a different division. The event is expected to stream on Paramount+ in the U.S.

The timing also lines up with Crypto.com’s 10th anniversary, which CEO Kris Marszalek said made the event even more meaningful for the company.

“We are humbled to join our long-standing partners at the UFC and serve as co-presenting partners of Freedom 250—an event that transcends sport,” he added.

At current prices, the $1 million pool translates to roughly 14.6 million CRO tokens, though that figure could shift depending on the market.

Crypto and UFC continue close partnership

Crypto.com has been working with the UFC since 2021, when it became the promotion’s official Fight Kit partner. Since then, the two have expanded into digital collectibles, commonly called NFTs and other crypto-related fan features.

UFC also has a blockchain tech partner in VeChain since 2022, and a licensed FIGHT token on Solana and BNB Chain.

The broader trend is focused on how crypto firms are continuing to use major sports platforms to stay visible, especially as competition in the space heats up

Plans for partnership with Polymarket

The partnership also introduced an innovative collaboration called the UFC Freedom 250 bonuses featuring some of their biggest stars.

UFC also checked in the major prediction market player, Polymarket, extending their arms for an exclusive partnership.

According to the media, one of the traders on the platform scored huge on a “scoring error,” turning a $500 bet into a $252,000 win over an incorrect fight outcome that was announced on the broadcast.

Bottom Line

Crypto.com is making a solid statement by putting up a $1 million bonus pool in its CRO token for the historic UFC Freedom 250 event at the White House on June 14. This move isn't just about branding; it's the latest, most dramatic example of how deeply crypto firms are embedding digital assets into major sports and other industries.
