Doodles NFT to launch 10 billion DOOD tokens on Solana, aims to power its ecosystem

Doodles, one of the top NFTs on the OpenSea marketplace, has launched its debut DOOD tokens ($DOOD) on the Solana network, creating a milestone in the Web3 space. The launch ultimately included an airdrop distribution of 10 billion fixed-supply tokens, where 68% of the tokens will be devoted to the Doodles community and ecosystem development.

The whole token distribution goes this way;

  • 30% to Doodles NFT
  • 25% to the Ecosystem fund
  • 17% to the Doodles team
  • 13% for onboarding new users, aka “New Blood”
  • 10% for liquidity
  • 5% reserved for the company

With the token launch, the Doodles team intends to bolster its ecosystem and diversify its governance, community, and incentivization with key utilities. This would make the Doodles users explore new ways to earn rewards besides consuming the platform’s creative ecosystem. With DOOD, users can customize Doodles 2 avatars, vote on community-driven proposals, benefit from cross-chain incentives, unlock rewards, and access premium content.

The Doodles team wrote on X that the users who have registered for their Doodles collectibles will first start receiving the airdrop immediately, within 3-5 minutes. Meanwhile, New Blood partner communities can get the tokens after the first receivers.

Doodles NFT to launch 10 billion DOOD tokens on Solana aims to power its ecosystem

However, the Doodles developers have warned to be cautious of any scammers posting about airdrop alerts. They wrote: “Doodles will be the first to post the contract address when trading is live.”

Why on Solana?

Particularly, Solana has become a top choice for launching major tokens due to its high processing and transaction speed, low transaction fees, and scalability on the Layer 1 blockchain. After the token launch, DOOD will bridge to the Ethereum Layer 2 network, Base. This allows seamless interaction between Ethereum-native and Solana-native communities and aligns with the project’s goal to expand its ecosystem. Notably, Doodles NFT works on the Ethereum blockchain.

Binance becomes the first exchange to back DOOD

On May 7, 2025, Binance announced that it is the first platform to feature DOOD. This enables Binance users who hold a minimum of 168 Alpha Points to receive 9,873 DOOD tokens through an airdrop. Users can get the tokens 10 minutes after the Alpha listing, wrote the Binance team in an X post.

Alpha points on Binance insinuate a scoring system prepared to evaluate the user activity on the Binance Alpha and Binance Wallet ecosystem. Starting from May 9, Binance will allow its users to trade DOOD tokens on its Alpha and Futures markets.

Doodles’ DOOD Token

Launched in 2021, Doodles NFT is a unique collection of 10,000 NFTs. These collectibles showcase various pictures of a character called Hap, in different hats, hairstyles, expressions, and other traits. Announced in February 2025, DOOD is the official token of the Doodles NFT ecosystem that is built to be used as a utility token across Doodle’s gamified ecosystem.
