As content creation is becoming a more relevant business model in the digital world, the crypto industry has been looking for a leap into video platforms. Tether, the largest stablecoin issuer, and Rumble, a video-sharing platform alternative to YouTube, have jointly launched a non-custodial crypto wallet for boosting the creator economy.
Tether’s wallet development tool finds a use case through Rumble
The wallet, called Rumble Wallet, is a built-in option in the video streaming platform. The wallet is integrated into the platform using Tether’s Wallet Development Kit (WDK). This makes WDK meet its first real-world use case, according to an official blog by Rumble.

Rumble Wallet aims to monetize creativity
Rumble Wallet allows content creators to earn money by selling their creativity on the platform. However, the money they earn does not come through a traditional method, but cryptocurrencies such as Tether’s USDT stablecoin play the role.
Besides USDT, Rumble Wallet supports Tether Gold (XAUt) and Bitcoin (BTC) at the initial stage of launch.
When content creators share a video, viewers on Rumble can watch it and tip them through instant settlement. Creators can also share exclusive or premium videos with subscribed individuals. For every paid subscription, creators earn crypto from the tips sent by viewers.
The instant and smooth transactions between content creators and viewers happen as Rumble is connected to crypto-native rails, meaning the underlying payment infrastructure.
We are putting more power into the hands of users and creators so they can engage with and financially support the content they like. That’s another parallel to free expression, and it’s all unique to Rumble.

Although crypto wallet integration in video streaming platforms is not very common, crypto integration has started becoming a common trend.
YouTube has started offering an option where content creators in the US can receive payments in PayPal’s PYUSD stablecoin. Twitch, another live streaming platform, earlier allowed crypto payments, including Bitcoin, for subscriptions. However, the platform removed the options due to regulatory strains.
